Affiliates
What is an affiliate? An affiliate is a group of volunteer managers who have joined together in their local area to network and discuss the challenges and possible solutions in the community. NCAVA provides information, education and consultation to affiliates. A Regional Director will assist each affiliate.
How can a Regional Director assist an affiliate? They will provide the affiliate with a NCAVA Affiliate Handbook and serve as their resource. They are available to attend affiliate meetings, bring a NCAVA display, provide materials, explain the certification program, assist in getting your workshops accredited, share about the new community college training or just visit. Why should someone be a member of an affiliate? The education and professional growth opportunities provided through ongoing workshops and training sessions are a must to stay current in our ever-changing field. The opportunity to earn free credits towards certification is a Certified Administrator of Volunteers in North Carolina (CAVNC) is an honor. The networking opportunities that allow for mentoring and peer support are invaluable. The cost-effective method of fulfilling job requirements, the opportunities for leadership development and idea exchanges can help save time and money. Not to mention the reduced registration fees to the Annual NCAVA Conference.
What does an affiliate get from NCAVA for their annual $25 dues? An affiliate gains clout from being associated with NCAVA which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. They are given leadership materials such as the Affiliate Handbook, the NCAVA newsletter, information on upcoming NCAVA training and leadership support. They get workshop ideas and the opportunity to have those workshops accredited and, in some cases, gets financial assistance in hosting training events.
