Piedmont Regional Association of Volunteer Administrators (PRAVA) is pleased to offer, “RECHARGE.” Volunteers are incredible people with great energy, passion, and dedication – most of the time.  Some of our most important work as administrators of volunteer programs is helping to foster that positive motivation among volunteers.  This means that we need to understand our own motivations and styles for communicating and leading, and we also need to be able to apply that understanding to help us better engage our volunteers.  In this session, we will learn a little about ourselves, work to improve our communication skills, and devise strategies for assessing and involving volunteers even more effectively. The NCAVA Training Category this workshop topic best falls under is Resource Development and Management.

The primary learning objectives for this training:

  • Identify and analyze personal motivation, communication and leadership styles
  • Improve communication skills
  • Devise strategies for assessing volunteers’ motivation and communication strategies and make a plan to work with volunteers even more effectively
