What is the Basics in Volunteer Management course?
NCAVA is pleased to offer the Basics in Volunteer Management course online through Southeastern Community College. This 10-week course covers recruitment, retention, risk management, recognition, etc. There are multiple offerings of the class throughout the year.
The tuition cost for the course is $70, made payable to Southeastern Community College. Credit cards are not accepted, however, we will be glad to invoice your agency. Simply fill out the Invoice Agency form below. A handbook is required and will be made available the first day of class at no additional cost. Due to state auditing standards, please mail a registration form (see below) with your original signature, NOT a copy, of your completed form. Tuition payment MUST accompany class registration form.

- October 9, 2017 - December 15, 2017: Registration form must be received by October 5, 2017 to avoid delays in entering the class
- January 23, 2018 - April 3, 2018: Registration form must be received by January 19, 2018 to avoid delays in entering the class
After enrollment, there is no set time to log on each day. You can access the course from any computer with internet access. Graduates of the class receive on continuing education credit from Southeastern Community College (Whiteville, NC), 12-hours toward NCAVA certification, as well as several completed components of the CAVNC certification portfolio.
Anyone, anywhere can take this course. Out-of-state tuition does DOES NOT apply. Those outside of the United States are encouraged to join the class. Tuition payment must be in the form of a US Money Order.
