1. Fill Out the Session Notes Form and Keep Your Certificate of Attendance

Before each session a few forms will be handed out. These include a note taking form and a session evaluation. At the end of the session if you turn in the evaluation form you will receive a certificate of attendance. Even if you are not sure you would like to pursue CAVNC certification at the moment, if you keep your notes page and certificate of attendance, they can be used towards CEUs up to three years after the session.

2. Don't Overlook the Opportunity to Problem Solve  and Share Information

The sessions are great sources of information, but some of the best education can come from talking with attendees and presenters alike. Conference is a great time to share ideas and problem solve with colleagues from across the state.

3. Find a Local Affiliate Organization in Your Area

You may hear the Board or members talk about "Affiliates" , "AVAs" , or "DOVIAs" and these are organizations that are associated with NCAVA and hold networking and educational opportunities in a localized area. These organizations can help connect coordinators to more localized colleagues. Click the button at the bottom of the page to learn more about affiliate organizations. Don't see one in your area? NCAVA can also help start one.

4. Scholarship Raffle

There will be a basket raffle to help support the NCAVA Conference Scholarship fund. No attendee is required to participate, but if you would like to, a Board Member will be present between sessions to intake the donation and distribute raffle tickets. Cash or Card will be accepted. The drawing will be Friday morning and you must be present to win.

5. Make time to enjoy Asheville

NCAVA always plans free time so that members get a chance to relax and explore the city hosting us. Thursday night there will be no scheduled meal provided, so this is your best chance to hit the town! If you would like to go with a group, people usually gather in the lobby before going out. It is a great way to get dinner and meet some colleagues. Would you rather prefer to experience Asheville on your own? Then check out the Conference Packet as it will have some great options to choose from. This will be handed out at registration.
