2021 Statewide Conference and NCAVA Annual Meeting Update

2021 Statewide Conference Update!.jpg

Dear NCAVA Members,

Our favorite time of year is the Annual Statewide Conference on Volunteer Management. This is when most of us get to meet in person, network, share ideas, relax, and learn from one another. It is a cherished tradition that we take very seriously, however, we also take the health and safety of our members just as seriously.

With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic still in effect, the Executive Board has made the hard decision not to meet in person this year. Instead, we are looking at moving the conference online! This will allow us to safely meet, but it also opens up the conference to a wider network of Volunteer Administrators for us to share ideas with. In addition, it will give us the ability to offer these educational opportunities at a discount in a year when so many of our budgets have been cut or are uncertain.

We are hopeful that, in time, our world will return to normal, but in the meantime, the Board will be pushing the Statewide Conference to September 29th and 30th, 2021. This will give us time to make the transition online as smooth as possible by researching conference hosting software and marketing it appropriately. More details will follow shortly.

We will, however, still be holding our Annual Membership Meeting on May 20th, 2021. This will be free for all NCAVA members to attend online. At this meeting we will be welcoming the new board, honoring the members who have been awarded certifications and recertifications, vote on the budget, and annual reporting by the exec board.

We know nothing can compare with talking with like-minded professionals while sitting on the beach or rocking in chairs in the mountains, but our goal is to still have a reliable and entertaining learning experience for all and to do so safely.

Please save the new dates for the conference and the annual meeting, and stay tuned for more details as we work to transition the conference online. We will be making periodic updates that you can find in the membership newsletter, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and our blog

Sincerely,

Your NCAVA Board
