NCAVA IT Chair Recruitment Now Open (2022-2023)

The North Carolina Association of Volunteer Administration Board of Directors has started the process of recruiting for the brand new IT Chair position. The will assist the VP of Communications with the transition to Google Workspace for Non-profits as well as assist with any tech support based questions from the Board or members as needed. We encourage interested NCAVA members to apply or share with others they feel may be a good fit. The position is completely volunteer, but it is a great way entry level position to gain leadership and non-profit board experience.

Position Information:

  • Location: North Carolina or surrounding areas if able to attend in-person meetings.

  • Primary Objective:

    The primary objective of the IT Chair is to identify and develop technology solutions that support NCAVA, its board of directors, members and affiliates. 

  • Responsibilities:

    The primary responsibilities of the IT Chair are to:

    • Oversee the organization’s Google Workspace account by adding and removing users, managing permissions and providing technical support to users. 

    • Support the board of directors and Communications Team with technology-related issues and requests for service. 

    • Serve as the subject matter expert on questions related to technology and point users to user guides and best practices that improve user experience. 

    • Make recommendations for improvements and suggestions for technology services that will improve the experience of board members, members and affiliates of NCAVA. 

    • Serve as the Executive Team Owner for strategic goals related to IT services.

    • Report on strategic planning and goals progress to the board of directors. 

  • Terms of Office: The IT Chair is elected by NCAVA membership and serves a one-year term. 

  • Terms of Position: The IT Chair reports directly to the Vice President of Communications.

  • Pay: None. This position is part of a volunteer board of directors.

  • Time Commitment: The NCAVA Board meets once every month via Zoom except for one to two in-person meetings usually scheduled in October and March. There will be additional monthly time requirements based on strategic goal action items.
