What is the Basics in Volunteer Management course?
NCAVA is pleased to offer the Basics in Volunteer Management course online through Southeastern Community College. This 10-week course covers recruitment, retention, risk management, recognition, etc.
The tuition cost for the course is $70*, in the form of a U.S. money order made payable to Southeastern Community College. Credit cards are not accepted, however, we will be glad to invoice your agency. Simply fill out the Invoice Agency form below. A handbook is required and will be made available the first day of class at no additional cost. Due to state auditing standards, please mail a registration form (see below) with your original signature, NOT a copy, of your completed form. Tuition payment MUST accompany class registration form and must be in the form of a United States Money Order.
Summer Session: May 21 - July 30, 2024.
Fall Session: August 20 - October 29, 2024.

After enrollment, there is no set time to “log on” each day. You can access the course from any computer with internet access.
Graduates of the class will receive one Continuing Education credit from Southeastern Community College (Whiteville, NC), 12 hours toward NCAVA certification as a Certified Administrator of Volunteers in North Carolina, as well as several completed components of the NCAVA certification portfolio.
Anyone, anywhere can take this course. Those outside of the United States are encouraged to join the class.
