Workshop Overview

NCAVA and it's affiliates host workshops across the state. Workshops endorsed by NCAVA allow for individuals to receive certification credits to go towards becoming a Certified Administrator of Volunteers in North Carolina (CAVNC). Additionally, Southeastern Community College offers an online course, Basics in Volunteer Management, throughout the year.

Topic of Discussion: Ann Whisenhunt, Senior Companion Program Manager with Land of Sky Regional Council, will be our guest speaker. Her presentation, titled, “Warning: Enthusiasm is Contagious!” examines the role leadership style plays in the success of volunteer management. Are you and your organization attracting or repelling volunteers? What are you and your organization doing that really engages volunteers? What do you offer that makes your organization become the first choice for volunteers looking for an opportunity?
